ABOUT SIEW YEN CHAI
Hi! I am Siew Yen, a perennial traveler who loves good food, good books, and all things beautiful.
I am also deeply curious about cultures—what makes us different, and above all, the same. It all began with an early dose of culture shock when I moved from my birth country Malaysia to the US at age 12. Ever since then, I have been on this quest to explore the world one stop, one bite, and one conversation at a time.
Travel By All Means is a chronicle of my continuing travel experiences. Armed with my passport and carry on suitcase, I have been to 40+ countries in the last five years, arriving by plane, train, bus, car, ferry, or on foot, to live up to the site’s namesake.
Through my own words and images, I’d like to show you what I saw and learned in certain corners of the world. Be it in the form of a story, a photograph, a practical guide, or a recipe I took home with me, my aim for this blog is simple. I hope it will inspire you to go out there and travel, by all means!
