“Yet now I felt that to understand my own direct experiences, I would have to translate them back into language. Hemingway described his process in similar terms:  acquiring rich experiences, then retreating to cogitate and write about them.”

Paul Kalanithi, When Breath Becomes Air

Welcome!

Travel By All Means has been a project long overdue. Over the past years, I have been fortunate to travel extensively for both professional and personal pursuits. On this globe-trotting journey, I have encountered marvelous places and met inspiring people. There have been moments of epiphany, of serendipity, and of awe.  Even the ordinary, the mundane, and the ugly—there was something to be said of them, too.

I have been wanting to share these stories with you.

40+ countries and a full 52-page passport later, I am still combing through—and trying to make sense of—the collection of memories and images that I have accumulated. With each new trip on the horizon, the collection grows still. I have come to accept that I will never be completely caught up and that there is no better time to launch the blog than NOW.

Here is a start.

Through my own words and images, I’d like to show you what I saw in certain corners of the world.  This blog will celebrate the things I learned on the road, be it in the form of a photo essay, a short video, or even a recipe.  I hope you will join in on this journey, and most of all I hope it will inspire you to go out there and travel, by all means!

More on why I started this blog.
